Does it handle accents and non-Latin characters?
Yes. Accented Latin characters are transliterated (é → e). Non-Latin scripts (Arabic, Cyrillic, CJK) are transliterated where a standard mapping exists, otherwise they are dropped.
What are "stop words"?
Common short words like "a", "the", "and", "of", "in". Removing them shortens slugs and boosts keyword density — but it can hurt readability, so it is optional.
Should I use hyphens or underscores?
Hyphens. Google has confirmed hyphens are treated as word separators; underscores are not. Use underscores only if your platform requires them.
