What you overuse.
Frequency tables surface filler phrases and favourite crutches. Useful for editing a draft, studying a transcript, or gauging keyword density.
What counts as a word?
Runs of Unicode letters, digits, and apostrophes. "It's" counts as one word; "well-known" counts as two unless you post-process.
Which stop words are filtered?
A short English list of articles, pronouns, and auxiliary verbs — enough to cut the usual noise. For domain-specific stop lists, copy the table and filter downstream.
What's a useful percentage threshold?
For prose editing, words above ~2% of the total are worth auditing. For SEO keyword density, target 0.5–2% for the primary phrase.
